Job Summary

The personnel will lead a multi-discipline Dry Dock Team in the safe and timely completion of the dry dock scope of work for 18m vessels under the guidance of the Mechanical Superintendent. He will also lead a multi-discipline Base Maintenance Team in the safe and timely completion of Planned and Corrective Maintenance work on BINL vessels under the guidance of the Mechanical Superintendent

Job Details

  • Supervise the preventative and corrective maintenance activities for vessels assigned to him.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are implemented and verified in accordance with the current maintenance planning. Ensure efficient organization of the daily work.
  • Efficient communication with the heads of the technical department to share all information for decision making
  • Supervise the different technical teams assigned to the dry dock project to ensure that the scope of work is completed safely, completely, on time and to a high standard.
  • Provide the Reliability Supervisor with daily updates of work progress and highlight any areas of concern relating to quality or schedule.
  • Assist with conducting a full condition survey of the vessel before starting a dry dock period and assist in the preparation of the scope of work, detailing the labour, durations and spare parts required.
  • Train and develop technical teams under his supervision to give them the skills needed in their daily tasks.
  • Improvement of technical knowledge and quality of work carried out by the 18m Dry Dock team/Base Maintenance team.
  • Follow QHSE procedures and improve safety during all base maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the maritime industry in a technical department.
